The 1929 Bentley 4 1/2-Litre, here in it's famous British Racing Green paintwork, represents
the golden age of British motoring and motorsport.
Built by W.O. Bentley, this car epitomised the spirit of endurance
racing, combining power, reliability, and an unmistakable presence.
Designed for racing and long-distance touring, the 4 1/2-Litre became a
legend after its dominant performances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where
Bentley's "Blower Bentleys" earned their place in history.
Powered by a 4.4-litre inline-four engine, this pre-war marvel produced
110bhp, with the later supercharged "Blower" variant offering
even more. The rugged chassis, robust suspension, and large drum brakes
made it as capable on rough, unpaved roads as it was on smooth tarmac.
The car's heavy, overbuilt design ensured reliability, and it became
known for its ability to run flat out for hours, handling long distances
with ease.
The Bentley 4 1/2-Litre became an icon thanks to its performance and
association with Bentley Boys, wealthy enthusiasts who drove these cars
to victory at Le Mans. Its combination of vintage craftsmanship and
racing pedigree makes the 1929 Bentley 4 1/2-Litre a symbol of luxury,
speed, and British motorsport's formative early years.
